Vernon was awarded Skagit Island Counties Association Project of the year Award for Area Enhancement. $AVE ON $TORAGE ($0$) is a 75,650 sq. ft. 824 mini storage facility in Mt. Vernon, and Parkside Manor is a 35,000 sq. ft. assisted care facility in Sedro Woolley. Parkside received the Skagit County Multi-Family Project of the Year. The George Hopper Business Center, built and owned by John and Dottie Piazza, is a 20,000 sq. ft. office building in Burlington. This project received the Commercial Project of the year. The La Conner Retirement Inn is a 49,4000 sq. ft. Retirement Inn with 7 cottage units across the street. The La Conner Retirement Inn won Project of the year. The Oak Harbor Retirement Community is 130 units, 101,000 sq. ft. and offers both Assisted and Alzheimers care and also won Project of the Year.
